Footwork
Length: 50 minutes (digital download)
The knowledge contained in this footwork instructional video will give you the ability to control the ring and the pace of a fight (even against hyper-aggressive opponents), avoid taking unnecessary damage, fight at a higher pace while spending less energy, and punish your opponent with quick-strike offense that’ll have them regret stepping into the ring with you.
On top of all that, you’ll be able to confidently practice in the gym with proper technique and clean footwork, even if footwork doesn’t come naturally to you.
The reason why most pro boxers make it look so easy is because of their dedication to–and repetition of–good habits. I have designed this instructional video in such a way that you can watch it once, take a few new ideas to the gym with you, and immediately start evolving your game. BUT, the more you re-watch it, the more details you’ll pick up and implement, and the more good habits you’ll develop.
Many of the advantages of learning through video are said best in the 50+ reviews found on this page; boxers claiming that half of this video was worth more than hours in the gym…”It is like having unlimited private lessons on footwork.” One coach of 20+ years said, “This is by far the best footwork video I have ever watched.”
Here’s just a few of the skills you’ll learn in this session:
– A versatile push step that can protect you from your opponent’s pressure and even help you sneak in some well-placed counter attacks.
– How I solved my flat-footed problem with a simple technique my coach taught me when I first started training years ago. This can also knock your opponent’s confidence down a few pegs.
– One of the first things you should learn if you want to avoid being a human punching bag. This can also help you regain control when your opponent charges in trying to knock you out.
– A footwork technique you can use when you’re ready to trade some mobility for quick-strike offense, without leaving yourself vulnerable.
– A slight quarter turn technique that’ll get you out of the line of fire, cut off your opponent’s attack and put you in prime position to launch your own effective offense.
– How you can layer defensive techniques on top of your footwork for added protection so you get hit less, allowing you to set up your own shots and box more offensively.
– A small shift you can use on the inside that can immediately negate half of your opponent’s offense, leaving them vulnerable while they readjust.
– The most dangerous habit that beginners can develop (and even some experienced boxers) when moving backwards that will leave you predictable and susceptible to power punches.
– How to effectively land shots on a retreating opponent. This is also one of the best ways to safely close the distance on a taller opponent.
– One “advanced” movement that’s actually dead simple but will make you look, feel, and fight like a total pro.
– One concept that you need to work on if you feel uncomfortable moving in or you’re having trouble adjusting distance when you attack.
I’ll also show you a few of my favorite footwork exercises that are aimed specifically at giving you the power and endurance needed to navigate the ring and control the pace.
Footwork isn’t just physical, it also requires you to have the right mindset. At the end of this session, I break down exactly how to think about your footwork; how to practice it deliberately so that you can implement good footwork habits into your unique style and provide a solid foundation for the rest of your skill set.
Head Movement
Are you having a hard time getting in range on longer reach opponents? How would you like to be able to close the gap on anybody and take them to the ropes? The key is to understand how footwork and head movement can be combined to avoid punches while closing the distance and setting up attacks.
Without understanding head movement, footwork and how they integrate you will always struggle against these fighters. They have the advantage right from the start – They can reach you before you can reach them and they know that you have to come forward in order to land punches.
With lateral motion, head movement, and quick footwork you can easily take away a taller fighter’s natural advantage. In this video you’ll learn each component, as well as how to integrate them. You’ll learn how to close the gap on taller fighters that hold their ground, and fighters that retreat forcing you to keep moving forward.
More specifically, you’ll learn:
- The essentials of slipping and ducking. How to perform these motions and use them to set up your offense, as well as subtle aspects to these techniques that give you better balance and speed.
- How to use lateral motion to create small angles and close the gap without making it obvious to your opponent that you have improved your position.
- The critical footwork needed to close the gap while moving your head and still be in the best position to throw once you get to the ideal distance.
- How to use head movement to get inside and evade your opponent’s offense on various rhythms whether they attack as you come in, after you start to move, or whether they move back and counter.
- Practical partner drills and padwork drills to help you see punches coming and develop links between your head movement and counter attacks.
- How to slightly change levels to get inside and avoid counters that you know are coming, particularly the check left hook.
- How to retreat from an attack in such a way that allows you to get back inside easily.
- How to use the back foot to create sharp angles that set you up for quick attacks.
Don’t suffer another sparring session of getting picked apart from the outside. With the skills and tactics taught in this video you’ll be landing clean shots and getting out without getting hit.
Defense and Counter Punching
Length: 1 hr 20 minutes (digital download)
In this instructional video I cover all aspects of defense and counter punching. I break down various ways to defend the jab, the right hand, hooks, uppercuts, and body shots. I show you how to position your body and use footwork to set up counters off of these shots and create your own offense and set-ups.
I give special consideration to defending from different ranges, along with a section dedicated to the basics of the Philly Shell defense. This video is demonstrated out of an orthodox position, however 90% of the information applies to southpaws as well. I’m confident this video will solidify your defense and counter punching and give a complete set of tools to work with.

I’ve been boxing only since July 2019 . I’m still CV considered a novice boxer but Jason’s videos allowed me to join a boxing gym without skipping a beat because of the knowledge he provides in the videos.
I just finished watching the SKILLS PACKAGE. It is OUTSTANDING! I probably took 30 pages of notes and I plan on using the info to set up drills.
If you are on the fence about buying any of the products, forget it. I have been very impressed with the START UP KIT and SKILLS PACKAGE. Jason is the best teacher out there!!!

These videos are the best I’ve seen.
I’m a dummy and bought all of Jason’s products separately. I own everything in the Skill/Combos/training bundle and love all of them. They’re high quality and the prices are reasonable. In my opinion they’re worth way more and I’ve seen other products that aren’t produced as well and with less content for more money. Each video provides tons of information and like I said the production is top notch.
